EST. ON HISTORIC ROUTE 66

Our Story on the
Mother Road

From Air Force roots to craft brewing excellence, we celebrate heritage, community, and the spirit of the open road in Amarillo, Texas

OUR STORY

How It All Started

Our founder’s journey began in his hometown of Kansas City, a place with deep roots in craft brewing. Then after he proudly served in the Air Force and learned the beer craft at Anheuser-Busch, his dream of creating his own unique brewery had been launched.

Moving to Amarillo brought new opportunities and a deep connection to the community. What started as homebrewing in a garage – experimenting with recipes, perfecting techniques, and sharing pints with friends, slowly evolved into something bigger.

The love of history, Route 66, and the welcoming spirit of West Texas all converged into one vision: a brewery that honors the past while creating new memories for locals and travelers alike.

FROM GARAGE TO GREATNESS

Bringing Old Tascosa to Life

Crafting exceptional beers in a historic 1948 building on America’s most iconic highway

Founded by veterans with a passion for craft brewing and community, Old Tascosa Brewing Company has transformed a historic 1948 building into Amarillo’s favorite gathering place.

Named after the historic town of Tascosa, once known as the “Cowboy Capital of the Plains,” we honor the rich heritage of the Texas Panhandle while creating something entirely new. Our taproom celebrates the golden era of Route 66 with exposed brick, vintage signage, and local artwork.

We’re more than a brewery, we’re a community hub where families, friends, and travelers come together over exceptional craft beer, live music, and genuine Texas hospitality.
